Read: Save and restore Chrome tab sessions with a local backup
How to use Session Trail
- Open Session Trail and save your current session manually.
- Optionally enable automatic snapshots after reading the local-storage notice.
- Search snapshots or expand one to inspect its saved tabs.
- Restore into new windows, or download a JSON backup to keep outside your Chrome profile.
What to expect
Keeps up to 50 snapshots within a storage bound, with up to 500 HTTP/HTTPS tabs per snapshot. Oldest snapshots rotate out. Incognito and internal pages are excluded. Tab groups, form contents and scroll positions are not saved. This does not recover tabs lost before installation. Uninstalling or clearing extension data deletes local snapshots; maintain downloaded backups.
